(Spoilers for LOKI! )In the MCU, does the TVA have authority over very powerful entities like the Celestials, Dormammu, Odin, etc.?

SPOILER ALERT!!! 


The TVA seems to have power over beings in the Sacred Timeline which would include the Celestials and Odin but not Dormammu.

If we belIeve the TVA, the Multiverse used to be at war and to stop this great war the Time-Keepers have been undoing the Multiverse and creating one Universe called the Sacred Timeline.

Even if this is true the Multiverse does exist and beings like Dormammu live in an alternate dimension and seem to out of the control and dominion of the TVA.

Dormammu

Dormammu exists in and is the absolute ruler of the Dark Dimension. The Dark Dimension is not controlled by time and it would seem is not under the control of the Time-Keepers.

Dark Dimension

It’s possible that Dormammu and the Dark Dimension was part of the Multiverse war and even though he didn’t win, Dormammu is not controlled nor effected by the Time-Keepers. Since the first Sorcerer Supreme discovered the existence of other dimensions it has been their sole purpose to protect the Earth from these other dimensions.

Fear Dimension

Agamotto became the first Sorcerer Supreme to detect the presence of other dimensions. He dedicated his life to protecting the Earth realm from extra-dimensional threats using magic.

Odin

Odin and the Celestials exist in the Sacred Timeline and it would seem the TVA has control over those entities as well but ONLY if they happen to create a divergent timeline and a Nexus event.

Celestials

I surmise if a variant or the original Odin or the Celestials got pulled out of our dimension and was placed out of time where the TVA exist the TVA would have complete control them. We have seen that the Infinity Stones and Loki’s Magic have no power in the TVA building and their Pocket dimension.

Variant Loki and Mobius M. Mobius

There is no reason to think otherwise that if pulled out of our timeline, any being even Odin and the Celestials would be powerless and under the dominion of the TVA. Once again if we believe the TVA, the Time-Keepers predated the Celestials and Odin.

There are other dimensions that do not seem to be under the purview and the power of the TVA.

Other dimensions that exist in the MCU but are not part of the sacred timeline: Astral Dimension,
Mirror Dimension, Mandelibus Dimension, Dark Dimension, K'un-Lun, Fear Dimension, Grass Jelly Dimension, Actiniaria Dimension, and the Flowering Incense Dimension.

Mirror Dimension

The Quantum Realm may or may not be an alternate dimension but it seems it is controlled by the Time-Keepers because the Infinity Stones affect even those in the Quantum Realm.

But if somehow the Time-Keepers could bring a being like Dormammu into the Sacred Timeline then possibly the TVA could try to control him but Dormammu would have the use of his amazing and horrifying power.

Astral Dimension

Though when Doctor Strange traveled to the Dark Dimension one of the Infintiy Stones did work but I still don’t think that means the TVA could control Dormammu.

So in conclusion, for beings outside of our dimension, the TVA does not have the power to control such beings if they are powerful enough like Dormammu.

(Spoilers for Loki) How does the Time Variance Authority have multiple sets of Infinity Stones?

  Because as evidenced by the Time Authority variants are appearing all the time. We saw the Time Variance Authority processing and sentencing Variants who could destroy the Sacred Timeline and send the universe into a multiverse war again. If a Loki Variant could steal one Tesseract (one infinity stone) then why couldn't other variant beings do the same thing? Evidently other variant beings did try to steal or use an infinity stone and they were captured and their infinity stone was probably taken from them. Even though Loki Variant took the Tesseract, it still exists in the time when Steve Rogers returned the stones. The copy of the Tesseract like other infinity stones I’m sure came to the Time Variance in similar fashion. So it would seem the Time Variance keeps such trinkets as paperweights. I hope that clears up any confusion!
